Increase Web Traffic

Increase web traffic! That is what many web pages are screaming! But how do you go about increasing web traffic? Where do you start and how long does it take?

Well, there are numerous traffic generating techniques out there but today I want to talk about harnessing the power of Facebook.

Social networking is a great traffic source, which is also FREE! Sure you can spend money on advertising on Facebook but there is no reason why you can't generate traffic organically.

So where do you start?

The first thing you need to create is a fan page. When I started I wanted to keep my personnel page completely separate from my marketing page.

When naming your page ensure that it is NOT something generic like "Make Money From Home" Facebook does not like generic and can potentially remove your page with out any warning.

I called my page a descriptive name relevant to my niche and included my name in the title. This title is not generic but still conveys what I do and who I am.

Once you have got your fan page sorted start posting content related to your niche. Facebook LOVES pictures and video!

Every day I spend at lease half an hour on my page adding engaging content.

Engaging content can be anything related to you niche including famous quotes or problem solving videos from YOUTUBE.

I have also started making my own videos and posting them on my page.

Once you have posted engaging content on your page start posting content on other peoples walls who are interested in the niche you are marketing.

I spend another half an hour a day doing this. Your ultimate goal is to get people to LIKE your page, But Why?

By collecting a list of people that LIKE your page if you post something that they find engaging and comment on it you will be featured on their wall. This in turn will mean that their friends will see your post.

Then, the next time you post something you will be featured more highly on that person's home page when they log in.

Does that make sense?

Now, I have already said that you want to post engaging comments on your page in order to encourage people to comment.

That is because our goal is to get that person to comment on what you have posted. However your content doesn't always have to be relevant to your niche.

Engaging comments could be asking questions that people will have an opinion on, such as "Who is better Batman or Spiderman" with a picture attached to your post.

As long as your content is evoking a response it's good!

Of course once you have developed a Facebook following you can start directing them to your web page.

Just remember to post content on a daily basis so that their friends and their friends, friends will hear about your page.

Try this for 1 month and see what happens.
